About this data

Building permits are public records. The City of Edmonton publishes issued permits as open data: City of Edmonton Open Data (General Building Permits). A permit means the project has been approved to start, so it is the earliest reliable sign of construction at an address. Project values are as declared by the applicant and are often below the final cost.

To look up the status of a single permit, use the City’s own permit search. This page is a weekly summary, not an official record. We leave out applicant and homeowner names on purpose.
